256-bit SSL encryption on all data in transit and AES-256 encryption at rest. HTTPS everywhere with encrypted API calls.
Backup & recovery
Daily backups, with the last 2 backups retained for recovery.

Granular role-based access for Admin, Teacher, and Parent roles, two-factor authentication, and full activity audit logs.

How secure is the ChalkPis platform?
Hosted on our own Hostinger VPS infrastructure in India, with 256-bit SSL/TLS encryption in transit, AES-256 encryption at rest, role-based access control, two-factor authentication, and full activity audit logs. We're not publishing formal compliance-certification claims (e.g. ISO, SOC 2) here until they're independently verified.
How often is school data backed up?
Backups run daily, with the last 2 backups retained for recovery.
Who can access student and staff data?
Access is role-based. Admins, teachers, and parents each see only the sections relevant to their role, and every action is recorded in an activity audit log.
Is ChalkPis compliant with data protection regulations?
ChalkPis is built with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 in mind — see our Privacy Policy for how student, staff, and parent data is handled. Two-factor authentication is available for admin accounts.
