If a device attempts GPS spoofing, ChalkPis flags the submission and notifies the school admin immediately.
How it works
Admin sets the campus boundary
Draw your school campus on the map in the admin panel. Set an acceptable GPS radius (typically 100 to 200 metres) for the boundary.
App unlocks only inside the boundary
When a teacher opens the attendance screen, the app checks GPS in real time. Outside the boundary, marking is locked. Inside, it is enabled.
Every submission is GPS-stamped
Each attendance record stores the GPS coordinates and timestamp. Admins audit any submission from the location log at any time.
Frequently asked questions
Does this work in areas with weak GPS signal?
ChalkPis uses A-GPS which handles most conditions. For buildings with poor signal, Wi-Fi network verification works as a fallback. If the device is on the school Wi-Fi, marking is enabled.
Can different buildings have separate geo-fences?
Yes. Multi-campus or multi-building schools can define separate geo-fences per building. Each fence is named and associated with specific classes or staff.
Is it available on iOS and Android?
Yes. The ChalkPis teacher app runs on both iOS and Android. GPS attendance works identically on both platforms.
How is GPS data stored?
GPS coordinates are encrypted in transit and at rest. Stored for audit purposes only. Not shared with third parties. Only school admins can access the location logs.
