Homework & Assignments for Schools

Replace the paper homework diary. Teachers post assignments from their phone, parents see them the same day, and submissions are tracked in one place.

Same day

parents see homework after it's posted

What it does

Post homework in seconds

Teachers post homework for a class or individual students directly from the teacher app, with an optional due date and attachment.

Parents see it the same day

Homework appears in the parent app immediately after posting, with a notification, replacing the paper diary that gets lost or forgotten.

Submission tracking per student

For assignments requiring submission, teachers see who has and hasn't submitted at a glance, instead of checking a stack of notebooks.

Full homework history by subject

Parents and students see a running history of homework by subject and date, useful when a child has been absent and needs to catch up.

How it works

01

Teacher posts from the app

After class, the teacher opens the app, selects the class or specific students, and posts the homework with any due date and attachments.

02

Parents and students are notified

The homework appears instantly in the parent and student views, with a push notification so nothing depends on a child remembering to mention it.

03

Track submissions and follow up

For assignments marked as requiring submission, the teacher sees a simple submitted or pending list and can follow up directly in the app.

Frequently asked questions

Can teachers attach files or images to homework?

Yes. Worksheets, images, and PDF attachments up to 16 MB can be added to any homework post, the same limit as other file sharing in ChalkPis.

Can students submit homework digitally through the app?

Yes, for assignments the teacher marks as requiring digital submission. Students or parents can upload a photo or file as their submission.

Is there a separate homework diary a student needs to carry?

No. The app replaces the physical homework diary for schools that choose to go fully digital. Some schools keep a lightweight physical diary for younger grades as a transition, which is entirely optional.

Can parents see homework for previous weeks?

Yes. The full homework history is available by subject and date, so parents can look back for anything they've missed.
