Frequently asked questions
Does ChalkPis calculate PF and ESI automatically?
Yes. PF (12% of basic) and ESI (3.25% employer, 0.75% employee) are calculated automatically based on each employee's structure. Contribution limits are kept current. Monthly challans are generated for filing.
Can we handle different pay structures for teaching and non-teaching staff?
Yes. Define separate structures for teaching, administrative, support, and management staff. Each structure has independent components, allowances, and deduction rules.
How does staff leave affect payroll?
Approved leave links to payroll. Loss of Pay is deducted per day based on the employee's daily rate. Leave encashment is also supported.
Can staff view their payslips in the app?
Yes. Staff log in to the ChalkPis staff app to view current and historical payslips. Payslips are downloadable as password-protected PDFs.
